Cost and Project Accountant – Sandton Area
Permanent role available immediately for a Cost and Management Accountant within a global skills development training organisation.
Inherent requirements:
• National Senior Certificate
• BCom Hons majoring in Management Accounting
• If CA(SA), newly qualified and above, others minimum 3 years’ experience within finance/ similar role
• Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge Preferred skills and Requirement:
• Good knowledge of Generally Recognised Accounting Principles (GRAP), VAT legislation, Income Tax legislation, Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Ability to check budgets, budget corrections, capture budget corrections, approve budgets and prepare budgets
• Ability to check journals, prepare journals for corrections, and check the capturing for correctness before posting Duties and responsibilities:
• Management of project contracts budgets and spending
• Analyse and oversee revenue recognition on projects within the Company (approximately 300 Projects per year)
• Management of Project Gross Profits
• Approve POs and allocate costs at a project level
• Manage project profitability and report monthly on status of all projects
• Process drawdowns on projects where funding is received in advance, and or following up on raising of invoices on work completed in line with project milestones
• Perform all system activities in ACCPAC that relate to daily, monthly, and yearend activities
• Oversee all processes within the sub-ledgers to ensure that it takes place completely and accurately in the correct financial period
• Assist with the preparation of financial reports to funders in line with funders requirements and report templates
Duties and responsibilities:
• Assist in the preparation of yearend audits, projects audits and internal audits
• Assist with Debtors management and collections
• Assist with any other assigned activities Character traits:

Offer: R600 – 700K p/a
