Lead Developer – Johannesburg Area

We require the service of an experienced C# .net software developer team leader to help with the fast-moving IT requirements of a growing company in the financial and insurance industry.

Responsibilities

  • As a development team lead you will lead a group of developers and testers constantly striving for quality solutions that are delivered on time, within budget and scope, and drive a culture of quality and personal accountability.
  • Successfully launch new products quickly as well as manage a large existing code base.
  • This is an exciting opportunity to lead a growing team of engineers working on this ambitious development roadmap.
  • This is a hands-on role: you should expect to spend at least 50% of your time writing code, or working with others on your team directly contributing to the production of code. The other 50% of your time will be split between architectural and strategic planning with peers and senior developers and the day-to-day people management and development required of a high-performing and successful team.
  • Keep up to date with evolving technologies and architectures, including, deployment best practices, Object Orientated Programming etc.
  • Introduce experiences gained in the development life cycle (Requirement gathering, technical requirements, development, testing, deployment and source control) to the company’s IT department.
  • Manage all steps of the SDLC including sprint planning, development, testing, code review, and demos.
  • Foster collaborative development, knowledge sharing coding best practise and standards
  • Define, document, and implement team KPA’s 

Required Experience

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience.
  • Proven experience in the life cycle of software development.
  • C# .NET
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Xamarin
  • WPF
  • Experience with SPA frameworks
  • Cloud services (Advantageous)
  • Test Driven Development
  • Agile Methodology

Non-Technical Skills:

  • Able to work well in a team as well as individually
  • Attention to detail, and able to think creatively outside the box
  • Able to accurately plan and prioritise work
  • Excited about learning, pushing technical limits and finding new solutions
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong agile experience
